Happy Easter from Nottingham....

A quick post tonight..... from my home town of
Nottingham......

Spring may finally be here.......

The camellias are out in full bloom......

Meeting up with friends....

Revisiting some favourite places.....

Martins Pond......

A stroll by the Nottingham Canal.....

The canal locks that are still in use......

Part of Nottingham Castle perched on its sandstone cliff....

Past the Nottingham Courthouse....

and a quick pit-stop inside.....

A ride on the great tram system.....

A visit to some favourite stores......

I love this staircase in one of my favourite vintage stores,
it looks very Harry Potterish.....

And outside, a homage to some of Nottingham's illustrious sons.....

Lord Byron, DH Lawrence and Alan Sillitoe.
I remember the fuss made over Lady Chatterley's Lover and
Saturday Night and Sunday Morning....... of course we HAD to read them!!!

Visiting with a great friend Millie, who is now happily settled into her
new home......

This is a form of sheltered accommodation for the elderly and is great!
A really friendly and caring bunch who look out for each other. We need
this type of housing in Canada. Millie loves it here.

A visit to Nottingham Council House for a talk on Design and
Sustainability.....

Sharing " swiecone" - a Polish Easter tradition where traditional
Polish food, including decorated eggs, are placed in a basket and taken
to church to be blessed by the priest. The food is then shared with one's
family and friends on Easter Sunday...........

And meanwhile, the country is battling with Storm Katie over
the Easter weekend.....

The hyacinths have taken a battering.....

Onwards and upwards!!!
